What I find hilarious is how so many people get worked up over two games that aren't even out yet.

What I find hilarious is your face.
On topic! FF will make tf2 pointless and vice versa depending on which game you choose :P (I will be playing both till I can come to a fav, then just delete the other :P so I dunney get tempted!) |

The end of an old year and start of a new year is the most common time for suicidal thoughts and some of the people posting on this thread reflect that, just get on with you life with analysing every little aspect of 2 games that are yet to come, just relax and take them as they come.

I just hope it's as easy as tfc to shoot at players in both games, because all this messy cl_interp stuff is driving me nuts

I haven't seen too many issues yet. I was frustrated with DoD:S and to a lesser extent, CS:S, but I haven't seen the same thing in FF.

All this doom and gloom, the December 2006 date was never going to happen and probably shouldn't have been mentioned, but games are barely played in the run up and including the new year never mind developed. Few months after the new year once everyone is back to normal the game will be finished.

The December release date was a hopeful but everyone agreed that it was probably a far shot. Phish and MrBeefy both have mentioned in other threads that the lack of progress is due to many different factors, the least of which being real life events happening. Its hard to put so much effort into something when you still have to work every day, care for your family, and keep yourself sane by finding something to do on the little time off you can actually get ahold of.

I am more disappointed with a lack of media updates rather than the supposed (and unlikely) Dec 06 release. We're coming up on 1 month without a dev journal and almost 4 months without an ounce of media. It's disheartening to follow a mod that hasn't shown anything new in about a third of a year.

I agree with hf_. I know the team has already said that they're trying their hardest, and I, and every one esle I'm sure, is extreamly appreciative of that. But something new in the media, ANY THING new would be extreamly uplifting to every one.
p.s. I don't really see this thread going any where, it's more or less like the "aww" thread that was just locked (hint hint) |

Yeah, things are long overdue for an update. Progress may be "slow" at the moment, but there's still tons of things we could show. I'd expect something "soon," but I'm leaving that "soon" intentionally very very vague

Why do people make assumptions about TF2's gameplay based on the video? That's not even necessarily actual gameplay. Not that it'd matter if it was actual gameplay because the video was intended to show off the art style and that the classes are still all in there.
They're both going to be bitchin' games so this whole "FF ROXORZ JOOR BOXORZ!" and "TF2 IS TEH PWN BISHES!" stuff is really quite stupid. Valve gets more money and respect as developer. FF devs get something sexy to put on their resume. We get 2 great games. Win-Win-Win. |

ok there hasnt been much media around ff.
But that one media of dustbowl valley was great. You saw something of the gameplay and the graphics. Now what have we already seen of tf2? Not much imo.Only a cartoon of it |

Your opinions are wrong. TF2 is already a) pointless b) a joke!
Why should I put any trust into a game from a team that _ruined_ the first really good TF remake? A team that explained for years how they want to create something that's called Battlefield today with realism and stuff... only to come out (years late... TF2 was supposed to be released before TFC, mind you...) as a "way too cartoony" (if they knew that making a TF cartoony is a sure way to be hated... would they have done it anyway? I don't know...) remake of TFC with "more players" for more public action. yey |

Because they weren't happy with it in that state of design? The game has just evolved

decs, you say it isn't very motivating to read threads like these. I agree, they are probably counter-productive. However motivation goes both ways, you've hardly done anything to keep the mod fanbase interest level up have you? The front page hasn't been updated in months, the dev journals are sparse, and it doesn't paint a rosy picture for ff.
How can we be enthusiastic when we have nothing to be enthusiastic about? We're not cheerleaders (at least most of us), we like to follow mod progress, even if there isn't much being made. |

btw I don't agree with the topic title even tho some of my posts may look like it :P
The more TFC mods there are the better each one has to be! |
