"But reverse" could mean tub. This leaves "Second in Aqua" alone. Could be q. "Q Tub"? Could mean the second syllable in aqua. "Ua Tub"? Haha, "YouTube"? Each word without the last character: "YoTub". Just like end: Complete. Without the fifth letter? Compete. That's what I got out of it. Maybe like "YouTube Competition" or something.

So, I messed around a bit with the puzzle bit. I tried having each character represent a certain number ( '.' = 2, ' ' = x, '_' = y ), and then use the sum to find the corresponding letter in the alphabet. (8 dots in the first 'part', 8x2=16, gives "p"). The first letter fits in nicely with "Second in Aqua, but reverse", (q reverse = p). Every different number I tried for the space and underscore characters gave me nothing though.
And, this has probably been mentioned before somewhere, but each 'part' of the "puzzle" ('parts' being separated by slashes) has either 4 or 8 dots in them. I don't know where to start with that, but it is worth noting. Also, there are 4 'parts' in each line (3 slashes). What I was thinking is that only the first line of the riddle gives what you need to decipher the puzzle, and then the next two lines apply to the answer you get from the riddle (take off the last character of each word you get, and maybe take out an "e" from the last word... or something of the sort). So, in conclusion, I am still 100% stumped. |

OK bro I googled Aqua and it came up as a band in the Europe. so here is a link for the bands song lyrics and shit. Aqua now they could be referring to one of the band members name spelled backwards or one of their songs. Good luck pm me if it works. The game was also developed in Europe from what I understand.

Hehe I've been up all night and for some reason started reading the original thread about this...
All I gathered up is: - The answer is a single word. The orb doesn't accept multiple words (or maybe spaces, but I think it was made clear). - The ........? at the end of the riddle doesn't mean anything relevant to solving the puzzle. - The puzzle was originally this: ......../... ./..__....../ And it should be solvable from that. The additional rows in the puzzle have weirdly positioned spaces and underscores compared to the original one: ......../... ./..__....../.__.. .._...__ . . . . . . . ./_.... . .../.... ..../........ ..../. ......./..__../.__...____ _______..../._.. ./ ........_/........ One might think they don't matter. There are three dashes on each row. If you ignore spaces and underscores, you get only dots and dashes (and line seperators). If you count the dots on the original row and seperate at each dash, you get "8 4 8". If you do the same with the additional one, you get 8 4 8 8 8 8 8 8 4 8 4 4 4 4 8 8 All I can think of is "eight", as it's the most common number of dots between each dash. But then again, the riddle at the end doesn't support that theory at all. And someone has probably already tried it... Also someone said at some point that the puzzle had once looked like this: . _ .. .. ... _ _ . . . . . . . . . _ .... . ... .... .... ........ which also has eight dots on each row, but this time there are no dashes at all. It was never confirmed that this form of the puzzle actually means something. So back to the original puzzle: ......../... ./..__....../ You could try fitting words so that the letters replaced the dots (8, 3, 1, 2, 6), but then the underscores wouldn't make any sense... why two of them even if it was a special character, and why are there dozens of them in the additional rows of the riddle. This wouldn't explain the dashes and the spaces either. One of them could be an actual word seperator (a space) but not both of them. And if it was the dash, then what the hell would the space be? The people who know the answer have said it makes sense. Does this mean there is nothing in the original puzzle that should actually be ignored? That would mean all the characters in it would have a meaning. Also the question remains, does this original puzzle form the answer, or a question to the answer. One idea was that each symbol in the puzzle mean the "height" of a letter. Letters can be different height: "aceimnorstuvwxz" are all vertically on the middle row (medium letters), "bdfhkl" are on middle and the upper row (high letters) and "gjpqy" on middle and lower row (low letters). These could be marked as . (medium), / (high) and _ (low). Now let's take a look at this again: ......../... ./..__....../ And let's see, there's like a billion different combinations to put them in? And those would be 12 and 13 letter words Also there would be a 7 letter combination of "gjpqy" and eight one letter words of "aceimnorstuvwxz" later in the puzzle, so... It's a good theory though! Well try "eight", still my best guess edit: why the hell did I do this, now I'm as obsessed about the answer as the dudes on the original thread of it, who have been trying to solve it for a year... I also got an urgent need of making an "unsolved for a year but definitely solvable" puzzle of my own maybe I'll put one in a map I make some day and remove the answer from it except on my own server which is the only place where it can be answered edit: edit: yay 12 letter words that match the symbols: antinovelist, commensalism, counterclaim, countershots, emotionalism, emotionalist, emotionalize, essentialism, essentialist, essentialize, extramundane, extranuclear, inarticulate, intercoolers, internuclear, internucleon, intracardiac, macronuclear, macronucleus, matriarchate, matriarchies, mercantilism, mercantilist, micronucleus, microreaders, microtechnic, misattribute, misremembers, mistranslate, neutrinoless, nitromethane, nonattenders, nonincumbent, nonsocialist, overreachers, racetrackers, rearticulate, sectionalism, semitrailers, somatomedins, steatorrheas, stromatolite, transcendent, transcribers, trierarchies, universalism, universalist, universalize, watercoolers, wisecrackers But no 13 letter words at all :\ I think I'm trying to mistranslate this riddle, or maybe the puzzlemaker did inarculate something, but anyway I'm going to quit this crap and cry or something as a nonsocialist emotionalist. And I think my intercoolers are broken, whatthehellever they are. Last edited by A1win; 09-08-2007 at 11:49 AM. |
