Yea, except that IV and V were TERRIBLE. WTF is the point in a metal slug game if the gameplay is crappy and the artwork isn't pants wettingly beautiful? (I haven't played VI or VII yet)

lol...that's funny you say that.

There used to be this one CHEESY UFO game..I wish I could remember what it was called...it was alot like space invaders but with a bit more graphics.
I would go to the arcade and beat the coin slot with the palm of my hand and get and instant credit. Eventually the arcade NAZI's found out and fixed the exploit. I would beat that thing until i got 99 credits...lol

oh and..I think everybody here was a fan of Dig-Dug...you could make a quarter last a few on that game.

I have control sets that I attach to my shuttle and hook it up to a tv or projector. But will be building a NeoRageX/Mame.50 cab sometime this year. And since the most played games on my mame is Joust, I dont really need much more of a machine than a 600mhz P3, 256 megs of pc133, and an 4meg ATi Rage Pro Turbo running tinyxp

I just havent had the time to mount my new Ms Pacman/Galaga Joystick, working with a Sanwa JLF-TB-8Y and three buttons for a con this weekend.

yea..that makes since about the computer not needing to be powerful if you gonna play old classics. Mame.50?? the version of Mame?? is this version able
to log into a server and play against other people? I believe SEGA you can do this with too.

Is that based on SoR2? Or some arcade version I've never seen? The original was fantastic, great action, moves, etc. Plus a great soundtrack from Yuzo Koshiro (also did Revenge of Shinobi among other Genesis titles). It was sort of their take on Final Fight, etc. While the graphics weren't quit as impressive, the speed, gameplay, and sheer style kick Final Fight's ass.

I don't think I ever played Streets of Rage 2...

Have to check it out regardless... Thanks!

Well techincally it would be .050. Mame uses the Unix style of counting for its versions, it went from .99 to .100. And sadly no it is not Kaillera enabled. There are versions of Mame that are, but I would rather have those on a machine that actually has aworking network card, and atleast a gig of ram. You can find a Kaillera enabled emulator for almost major system:
NES: JNES or Nestopia
SNES: Snes9k - Though Snes9x has its own protocol built in.
Genesis/32x/Sega CD - GENS
N64 - Project64k
PSX - ePSXe

But for mame you gotta find one that works with your rig. Since mame performance can vary vastly per version and hardware you have to do alot of legwork.

I never played Metal Slug at the Arcades.

I played it on MAME and I'd have to agree it's one of the best.

Anybody remember Bump-n-Jump? Another one of my favorites.
