Whatever you may say, I think they are green too! its "+attack2" to det your pipes.

So obviously bind "mouse2" "+attack2" in console. Or you can put it in config.cfg

Well, the color of something is defined by perception of it. And I perceive them as green.

Which means they're green to everyone.

How can something (a color) be defined as something that is actually different to everyone over something that is defined as one thing but only perceived differently to everyone? The last one makes a lot more sense to me!

I really dont get it, why do people make assumptions like this:
- they are green on the actually skin
- the color of something is defined by perception of it

that true?! why?! how 'd you know for sure?? did you study color theory? do you know anything about how the eye perceives color?? At least I come up with something better

It all comes down to this:I think the color is green because.. euh.well.. they look green to me :E

Did you know that in some cultures, yellow doesn't even exist, and they have colours that we can't tell. ok not really, the point is that their delimitations of the colour spectrum are different. some don't have such and such colour, another one has if i can remember well 3 colours we can only define as "orange".

But you are still talking about perception, and I am saying that the actual color values for the pipes (as can be measured by photoshop) are closer towards yellow than green. Then I am giving an explanation why they look more green if this yellow color is looked at with low contrast/brightness, thus making it appeal green.

You missed my whole point. As you just said, colours are defined by perception. There is no "actual photoshop color value" that defines the colour yellow.

No, I never said that colo(u)rs are defined by perception and I dont believe they are because perception is fooled by a lot of factors.

That's the dumbest fucking reasoning ever. If you turn the brightness up enough, EVERYTHING'S YELLOW.

well you can look that up on wikipedia: yellow wavelength: 565-590nm. More importantly the color of the pipes are somewhere on the gradient ranging from pure yellow to black; how people can say any color on that gradient is green; is a mystery to me

no; not really but if you can make everything yellow by turning brightness up on your monitor I'll join your team. And it was just an example; what I actually want you to do is find a nice flower that's yellow; and look at it again by night; because that's the same thing with the color of the pipes; it's a darker yellow; somehow people think it's green (silly people!!)

They're fucking yellow-green, you twats. It's not a binary option between yellow and green, THERE ARE DIFFERENT SHADES WITHIN THE TWO. Check a box of crayons for crying out loud. THREE YEAR OLDS KNOW WHAT YELLOW-GREEN IS.

I think the people who say they are green are just trolls who get a kick out of these arguments. And I happily contribute this post as fuel for the fire.
