In order:

Total Annihilation
Warcraft, StarCraft (dead even...)
C&C (all of them...)
Dawn of War

Call me crazy and weird but I liked Battle Realms, even though the majority hated it.

Really is my all time replay favorite....wish there was a C&C for the GBA!
Hell yeah! The first Command and Conquers were by far the best RTS's I've played.

C&C: RA, RA2 are the best two RTS games ever.

Why not share it here if it's a freeware type fix. I know that PCG posted a DOS emulator last month that I downloaded but never tried. Plus I own a copy of VMWare 4.5x and MS Virtual PC.

Alright, Here is the same one I sent to YoMamasHouse.

This is mainly to get the Command and Conquer 95 version to work. I am not sure about Red Alert, but I also got that one working through a process simular to this one.

First steps:
1. First insert the CnC cd of the game that won't work on Xp/other OS.
2. If autorun comes up, cancel it.
3. Find My Computer and open it.
4. Right click on the cd and click on explore.
5. Right click on Autorun and select properties.
6. Click on Compatibility, and check the box on Windows 95.
This will make sure that it won't crash during install.

Second steps:
1. Now double-click on autorun and go through install.
2. NO NOT INSTALL "DirectX" OR "Westwood Online"
3. Finish the install, but your not done yet.

Final Steps:
1. Find the EXE of CNC95.
2. Right click and select properties.
3. Go to compatibility and check the box again on Windows 95
4. Go to "http://files.filefront.com/ccgoldxppatchzip/;844993;/fileinfo.html" and DL the patch.
5. Follow instructions and install the patch correctly, CNC should work after this.

If anyone has a problem with installation useing these steps, PM me and I'll help ya.

I can install all of them just fine under Win2k with SP4. It automatically kicks in the compatibility thing for me. No patch required.

The problem (and kind of cool thing) with playing C&C and RA is that you have to set the game speed REALLY slow. The game wasn't meant to be played under such high processor speeds. Turn it all the way up for some good laughs. It'll be impossible to play.

if you like battlezone, try empires mod! its a mix of BZ and NS, applied to its own flavour of warfare
