...you've got beta, test the hell out of it.

I think I don't fully get your meaning.

Some suggestions that were made concerning the mini-concajump:
  • allow it to be toggled (via cvar or checkbox)
  • jump doesn't function if you hold still

Okay so two suggestions.

....

j/k, I'm stoked for reals.

Ridiculous mobility of conc+mancannon and IC+flamethrower worries me a bit, but I'll just drink my fears away.

Also,

Conc+mancannon will not be possible, or at least not in the capacity shown in the videos.

IC/nade + flamethrower gives a big boost but is very slow. He is an easy target while jetpacking around.

That's the only way to get a big boost from it (it's essentially an auto-double conc, but with even more power). It will not be possible in the future. The idea right now is that player speed after hitting a mancannon/jump pad will be capped.

The crux of the issue!

We're still debating how to fix it. Using a preset speed (so it's not a huge advantage), disallowing concs until landing, not allowing scouts or medics to even use the thing...

If you have any thoughts let us know.

Yuuup. But I still think it should be considered. Change can be good.

But it can also be bad when ya hold too tightly onto something, and try to change it at the same time. Eventually, ideas will be tapped out.

Innovation! Rawrrr.. that was the word I was looking for. Lol @ Circ.

This one actually strikes me as the most viable.. I like it because it means that Scouts will use them to help their teammates, or not at all. No disadvantage to the selfish Scout, but the more cooperative team still comes out ahead

The problem with that is that pubbers will lean towards the not at all.

Exactly. So, the virtuous players who get it through their head to cooperate with their team will have the advantage. Eventually pubbers will learn of the advantage and start using it, and the spirit of cooperation will thrive

I still think there should be a way of "unlocking" that skill for certain conc-maps. Think of the possibility! Of course, a way to prevent it on some maps, even though it can be as much of a liability as it can an assistant.

We are also aware that there will be new "Pyro Skillz" maps to come. Personally, I'm looking forward to them.

I've never found a true pub player (as in would never think of ever playing competitively and has never tried before) that cared about flag caps/teamwork.

EDIT:

What about the Demoman? Just shorter fuse?

I was expecting those physics to be put in there just to make them look nice when they tumble at the very least.

But so far it's good, making a shorter fuse on the blue grenades will make them a little more useable. Less range but that's why you use motes.
