ha, i started playing back in 99, i had cable then(my dad was a technology nut that had to have the latest stuff). All i remember is the Lag Dot days and actually needing skill to use a sniper.

Bad thing was, early days TFC. Some clans used to play wars on a T1 and host their servers too.
Playing Dice or LUV (scandinavian) with 300 ping and them with 10 or 25 was.. sorta unbalanced
Good players tho.

Rock2 was the first online map/game I've ever played back in 98 and I had no idea what was going on.

Back on a 56k in Australia playing on an American server, packet loss errors galore...didn't really know the objectives either and it took me a while to figure out how to build SG's... or even change classes for that matter...

I remember I used to frequent a server with crazy cool modifications done to it in 1999-2000. Later I found out the server was hosted in the US, which explained why I had 800+ ping :-e

Pretty sure TFC was released in april or may 1999, as it was never in the original game. Could be wrong here, it's a long time ago.
