I got the solution for you, it worked for me, simply copy the base_ctf.lua file from C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\FortressForeve r\maps\includes rename it too ff_remix_casbah.lua and u are done

Played it tonight for 2 hours. Fun fun map. It looks and feels like a port, but it has some new features to the map that are pretty cool.

ff_thecove won't work, unfortunately. I tried using the base_id LUA and doing so allows you to roam around the map as the class you want, but the map, unlike casbah, lacks CPs, the flag and bags (unless it's because of the LUA). If you want to try it, just copy and rename the LUA, maybe the other one works better (base_avd?).

Oh, and don't fall in the CP2 water areas unless you've got some method to get out, because there are no ladders...

yeah...I've been trying to get in touch with that mapper and help him finish it...last I heard he really just needed help with the .lua and he was pretty much done.

I gave a copy of the bsp to squeek since we are unable to find the maker of ff_remix_casbah. No promises but he said he would take a look at it. He is really busy with some other projects right now.

Well I edited the LUA so the base turrets work, but I don't have the file here at work, so just add it to the lua for that to work.

Also, the packs don't give any health except for the spawns, so that might need to be updated as well, but I'm not sure how to edit that.

You need to just make a basic.lua I'll make one up for everyone really quick. It won't be perfect, but it will have everything basic that is needed.

Ok...well what you need to do is take the existing .lua you have and add these to the very top of it:

IncludeScript("base_respawnturret");
IncludeScript("base_teamplay");
IncludeScript("base_ctf");
That will set up the spawn turrets, bags, and cap points and flags...

I'd like to get the packs working properly first. Packs do show up, but if I want big packs used instead of just providing ammo, I'd have to edit the map completely, right? And I've got no clue how to do that.

You would need to decompile the map and see exactly what he named each info_ff_script entity...the original mapper probably named them certian things to give out certain h / a.

ammobackpack
armorkit
healthkit
grenadebackpack
bigpack

All of those are made using the same exact entity in hammer, but are Dependant on how you name them as to what they end up being in game (defined in the .lua of course).

The bags your referring to are probably just ammobackpack's as opposed to bigpacks. OR he could have made custom one's...like in my map I have custom packs that I have named something completely different which you then define using the same code as the others and can change the values to whatever you want.

It's the same way shadow made cong not give mirvs and shit but still give out concs...that's why .lua is your friend!
