I wish! I make $17.00 an hour... Which, in Hawaii, is the equivalent of making $10.00 an hour in WA State. Or... yeah...

The state-wide median is $64,000 a year. Fucking sucks. You are considered 'impoverished' if you make less than the median. You got 3 to 4 generations of people all working pretty good jobs (making $20 an hour or more) all living in one house making payments on it until doomsday.

I seem to recall reading something in the last six months about median house prices hitting a new record on Maui. Something like 675-700,000 if memory serves. This last weekend I was reading that the median price of a house in Northern Nevada is roughly 330-350,000. Everything is getting more expensive including the price of not seeking opportunity.

Without people living here, there will be:

1. No running water
2. No electricity
3. No administration/government

Without any of these forementioned things, Hawaii wouldn't be a tourist trap and no one would vacation here.
