It's actually because Germans are asses, and their assness is affecting you.

Why is that? I've always found them very open and they'll always tell you that your German is great (even though you know otherwise ) if you would only try!

Lol I got laughed at for trying to pronounce Ålborg , especially the ‘org’… it's pronounced like there's a potato stuck in your throat or something, lol. Cool thing is that swedish, danish and norwegian people can pretty much understand eachother. The languages are not similar but they'll still understand it!

I love languages! I speak swedish and english fluently. I lived and studied in france for 8 months so I speak the language pretty well. Right now I'm living in Iceland and can speak a very basic icelandic but I'm picking it up fast.
I'd like to put some work into improving my french after learning more icelandic and following that maybe picking up either chinese or japanese.

Is icelandic much different from other scandinavian languages? I'd go for chinese btw, it's an interesting language!

It's basically 'old norweigan' so in theory it's not that different.
Then when you start learning it you realise how complicated the grammar is. Pronounciation can also be a bitch. But yes, a lot of words are similar so that helps with vocabulary to some extent.

School.

There other programs that some say work well, but I'm dubious.
