I try to avoid medic lately, I'm too used to right clicking for the medpack. I think I'm going to do some rebinding so that it still works that way, but I'd have to load it up as a script otherwise my alternate fire will be different for every character.
I like the medpack dropping idea, but I still can't get used to the alt fire being that. It's not a beef with the game or anything, it's just my inability. But still, it's annoying I go to get out my med pack and I start sending stuff flying everywhere. |

My mouse2 hasn't been used for medpack for like 6 years now. It's been for my concs ever since I started doing conc maps back in tfc.
My biggest beef with tossing those medpacks (and it really isn't a big beef at all), is that they're a bit hard to see, they don't stand out, and they're pretty tiny. As for healing an infection, I'll do that from time to time, if the guy is standing right outside the respawn and NOT moving, omg I can't stand someone screaming for a medic but continues to run around infront of me. I'm not going to waste my time doing the tango with some dude when I can almost NEVER heal or cure with the static pack. I pretty much can't even infect with it, I had some guy running backwards in 2fort my medpack smack dab in his face and it still wouldn't infect him. So I don't use that medpack... almost ever, it sucked in tfc for usage, and no offense but the user friendlyness of it in FF is somewhat lacking still. But I love tossing those medpacks, I use them a lot (when I remember I have people running O with me). |

I have a question that i dont think anyone has asked. How long do the medpacks stay visible?? You toss them and what happens?? do they stay there until someone picks them up or do they disappear after a certain amount of time??

I kinda thought that might be what happened. I have an idea, why not make them stay put until they are used?? Would that require much extra calculation on the servers part?? Or is that a mapping issue?? Im curious.. |

the thought is that it would be overpowered. a medic could just toss packs all around the place, giving his team full health without having to actually be around.

It would be nice if they lasted a bit longer than 5 seconds though. With 5 seconds there's no real strategy involved to laying them, you see an ally that needs a heal you toss a few out.
If they lasted say like... 15-20 seconds you could actually use strategic placings (especially in pickup/league play). You could set it so the packs dissappear after 5 seconds if the medic dies to avoid packs laying around a lot |

Considering you can only place pacs according to what armor the medic has on him or her at any given time, i wouldnt consider that overpowering by any stretch..I mean you can only throw so many anyway, am i right?? |

Medpack tossing wastes armor? I thought it used something like cells, but those recovered with time...
Not that I play medic that much so I might be wrong =S |

throwing medikits uses cells, which are refilled when you pick up packs off of corpses, as well as regenerated over time.

Perhaps a longer time limit on the packs when he drops them while alive, like 10 or 15 seconds, but as soon as he dies, they're gone. I think that allows the medic to act as decent defense support without being over powered. Basically, if he times it right he can prepare for an incomming attack, but he's got to stay alive or his help vanishes. No reminent health packs, etc. |
