The most obvious thing Bush did that would make a Libertarian cringe would be the Patriot Act. I would actually say that there are very few people who support it.
Both parties refuse to do anything about it. Because once you give the government power it is almost impossible to take it away. Which is why we should all be very careful anytime some sweeping new "change" comes into play.

One reason I get a little scared of libertarians is the ones in real life are a bit coo coo, it's a personal thing I guess. For example around here a lot of these wackjob survivalists are libertarians and when some get in power here they basically bring the government to their knees to a point of it being non-functional. Which I guess goes with their charter but we need some services they think are a waste. Like good drainage systems that are expensive. Which then cost more in the long run to bring it back up to speed later. And I am talking local not federal.

I also get a little scared of their isolationist foreign policy. That worked in 1800s but not now. Not sure I want them to have power to shape a world view they don't understand.

Other than that I have voted libertarian a few times. I like their "conservative" stance without the burden of bible over democracy. Such as sexual relationships and abortion.

\\EDIT when I took that test a while ago, I was more left than Ghandi.

What is the libertarian view on space exploration and all that? I could guess it's in alignment with Obama who is going to commercialize the space sector that is already mostly commercial contractors.

So Obama just gut the SHIT out of it. Back when stem cells were all the liberal rage they accused Bush of not funding science and predicted we were all going to fall apart and get left behind because of a lack of science in the budget and discredit to our world leadership status in research.

I pulled out the budget and ran down a whole list of things and basically concluded that I was ok with it because funding advanced research is critical in my mind and his stance ONLY limited research that government conducted, NOT private enterprise.

So basically I am a little pissed there could be no manned missions into space next year. But we'll spend MORE THAN THE ENTIRE FUCKING SPACE AGENCY AND THE MILITARY COMBINED ON STUPID SHIT

asshole.

Just wanted to share something from another quiz:

Seems more accurate to my actual beliefs and also seemed to ask questions that didn't suck.

About the space exploration thing:

The total returned per dollar spent on NASA is way in the clear. It was/is one of the only successes our federal government has had. Lately, they've been fairly shitty.

NASA didn't get the axe though, just the stuff that was actually cool and had good return per dollar spent. Now the majority of NASA's work will be spent on global warming.

I'm thrilled.

A lot of those questions suck. Some of it I'll agree with the first 1/2 of the question, and then the second 1/2 will knock it into "WTF NO" territory.
Regardless, here I am. Rock you like a hurricane.

It doesn't require any imagination at all.

Neo-conservatives tend to fit into the authoritarian section quite well.

EDIT

Me as always, taking my place next to the Dalai Lama, one of Earths few intelligent religious leaders.

I would be interested to see peoples individual answers. The charity vs social security and authority questions caught my interest in particular.

I get called a neo-con all the time. And I am left of the Dalai Lama. BTW he does not consider homosexuality to be part of what he considers to be natural. The Fascist nazi.

Actually he is beginning to waiver on those beliefs. He is having a hard time, but I at least give credit to someone who doesn't simply stiffen his back and reassure himself of the truth of his tradition without some reflective thought.
