The fact that CS:S comes with it isnt enough...now FF will be worth spending the money though!
What appalls me, is if we want to upgrade to get HL:S or DOD:S we have to purchase a new Steam account and we can not upgrade our current one. CS:S definately isn't good enough, come a year or two, we will see some quality mods though, lets hope FF is included in those.
What is so bad about getting a new steam account only that your steamid changes and you have to readd all your friends to the friends system that doesn't work in the first place?

I got the silver package on a new steam account and now I have 2 playable copies of HL, CZ, and all it's mods for those times where a friend who doesn't have HL wants to play. Yea, this won't help with HL2 but if we do play CS1.6 of TFC it is a nice bonus, just for $10 more. Also, just getting HL2 is $50 (well, some places might have it lower now, but i would rather get the steam version since it seems to be less of a hassle). The major reason for going to the next option up would be to get the back catalouge and DoD:S. Standard HL2 will be able to play all these 3rd party mods.

I miss the fact that a year ago I could refresh the tfc servers list and not find 3000 bot servers playing 2fort.

The fact that you have to pay for a second copy of Half-Life 2 etc. so instead of spending $50, you spend $100.
