I saw it in theaters, and as a hardcore fan of the TV series; I was thoroughly disappointed. I wouldn't rate it as the worst movie I've ever seen, because I've seen worse, but this was up there.

It saddens me to see one of my favorite series of all time degraded into this movie.

Ebert reviewed it harsher than he did the newest Twilight.
Rotten Tomatoes has Twilight at 53%, Airbender at 8%.

watched it last night, glad I didnt pay to see it. My kids and I love the animated series, and rewatch it constantly on netflix. It was painful to watch. I don't think shamalamadingdong ever watched an episode, or at least understood them. Felt like I was watching a cheap copy.

Saw it and Toy Story 3. Not a bad movie if you do not have any airbender past to connect with it. It was enjoyable even though I did follow the cartoons. I am waitng for Naurto to come to the screen in 2011. I heard he is being played by Daulph Lundred. He will be a little taller then I thought since if Tom Crusie plays Saske Naurto will be 4 feet taller in the movie. Seth Green is going to play Galla and Tom Cruise is going to play Rock Lee.
