That's exactly why I think different weapons should have different gib values. Like it really doesn't make sense for the shotgun to gib people.

Also if you could make ragdolls not react to explosives that could help with the distraction. That's how they do it in tf2.

Lol, it just kind of ruins it for me when people get gibbed by everything. There's an item in tf2 now that makes you gibb regardless of how you were killed. And I hate when people wear it. I really miss my shotgun gibbs. :/

In regards to explosions, there are two different action staples. One is gibbing and the other is getting sent flying by a shockwave. I happen to like the occasional go flying into the air when I rocket someone. Of course watching an explosion in the background from a mirv or an emp go off and a pyro getting thrown to a million pieces is also fun. There are times and places is I guess what I'm saying.

I like being able to see ragdolls flying as well, but I enjoy gibs even more.

We need directional gibs like TFC.

FF gibs always explode into a perfectly formed sphere.

Yeah ideally we'd have directional gibs with a lower threshold (so they happen more often) and ragdolls would gib too.

I think shotguns should be able to gib people at really close distances, it would be even better if there was an animation that would show the body being ripped in half. Like if I put a shotgun to your back and shot it, it would be physically devistating to you. Multiply that to game-level devistating and the shotgun blast would rip you into 2 - 3 good chunks. Only the super shotgun mind.

On the general topic, I also think values should be changed for different weapons, some not possible, like the nail gun or autorifle because it just doesn't make sense, maybe for grenades and explosives -50 health could warrant a gibbing. keep the current for the sniper so only the fully charged shots gib.

On gibs, I believe there is a console value you can change to generate more or less gibs, I remember using it on CS:S, and I'm unsure about on FF, it's client side and you can change it to almost anything, I tried a HUGE value and it crashed my system because my pc couldn't handle it. But just setting it a bit higher gives extreme results. Not sure on the actual command, or if it even works with FF.

We require dynamic gibs.

You're thinking of cl_gibcount x, which I've adjusted on TFC for some bloody nice results(ok, pun intended). I honestly don't know if that command is available(or enabled) in FF. Shouldn't be difficult to find out, though. Either way, I agree with you. Let us set our own gibs!

I really like the new gibb threshold, granted I think it could be a tiny bit lower. But it's pretty good where it's at.

Now I think they just need to be a little bit meatier. It's like people gibb now and a couple bones and a brain flies out. And I'm just like, where did they go? Needs a little more meat ala Q3/tf2. It's just a little flair that makes your good frags feel a bit more rewarding and fun to see.

Update: I did play around with cl_gib count or what ever it is. And I did like what I saw. But it was still mostly bones. I wanna see some campbells extra meaty gibb action.
