heres a quick run down on how i see the spotlights.
theres no rule to say that you cant use that many spotlights, but when you do you have to understand that they become a major element in you map and need to be integrated into the rest of the architecture. as of now you have the lights just sitting on a flat horizonal plane, if you were to throw in other verticle elements around them, or under them. say some relief colums in the wall beneath each light, that would tie the spotlights into the architecture and give an integrated feel rather than a clip art feel. anyway, i would say keep the spotlights but integrate them more. theyre very unique and will give you an edge. oh also something to think about is to vary your design pallet a little. you dont have to, it gives the map a nice old school shooter feel i think so either way is alright. thats it, good lookin map |

Either you have a poor computer, or you still have those spotlights set as dynamic lights; go into the point_spotlight properties, enter the 'Flags' subsection and select 'No dynamic light'. The map's fps will increase drastically in, to be honest with you, all parts of your map :P
Your map doesn't look bad so far, keep posting images so more criticism is earned. |

Nice! Don't listen to the people who say the lights are too much, if anything add more! I'm sick of every map having to live up to certain standards and all come out looking the same. As long as they don't dramatically affect the frame rate, add more and put some on.

I don't know why you wouldn't like the 'looking good' standard but those lights are obnoxious. Other than that it looks cool.

Far too many lights. I think that many would lag during gameplay.

Assuming he has the flag of dynamic lights turned off on all of them it shouldn't lag just consider reducing the number of them. You need to increase the ambient lighting too FF cannot be a moody game where you cant see anything you need decent amount of light.

You should take the tanker off the midmap. Also the point_spotlights are terribly overused, other than that, if this is really your first map, it looks good. Good for a beta, still needs polishing
