Casbah is really uneven map. Blue can easily be spammed on the doorway.
Though now there aint any teleports |

Now casbah was a map where I don't think anyone can deny that teleporters were a good thing.
Not that this fact in itself is a good thing... |

That's a pretty ugly crosshair.
Casbah would be better if the spawns didn't feature a walk of shame.

I'll admit that I was this maps pick up and drop offer. I was just too busy to finish it. I got about half of the Brushwork done, but I felt I was staying to close to the original design. It was basically just a port of the map... I was basically uninspired and figured that I didnt want to be the guy to ruin this map. I'm not saying that it would have been bad. Just... not a big translation like Crossover or Dustbowl, which is what it deserved. Do a search for a thread. I was keeping it updated on my progress at the beggining.

It would be pretty funny if the combined work of everyone involved actually completed the map or (almost). Last edited by o_sobe green; 09-30-2006 at 05:21 PM. |

Casbah was the first ever TFC map I had ever played(some 10 years ago) and I'll never forget it! I love this map, even if it was meant to be a CS map originally. Someone has got to pick it up, otherwise, I'll learn how to map and make it myself! Although I've only got CS/CS:Source/TFC installed... Anywho, out of the hundreds of maps I've played in my ole TFC days, including concmaps/rj maps and many others, this has got to be in my top 10 favorite TFC maps and it'd be wonderful if someone would pick it up. Maybe 2 of the mappers who had dropped it could collaborate and sorta share ideas and such to make a good Casbah.
My top 10 fav maps: Badlands Well2 2fort Mulch_dm Shutdown2 Openfire Palermo Crossover2 Casbah Vidar2 |
