Don't know which games you were playing, but Ep 1, OP4, and BLS have been awesome. BLS was far too short, and the lack of a final battle blew, but everything else was great.

Portal looked cool until I saw a recent video with a guy from valve talking about it and playing it (it was posted here). It completely ruined it for me. It went from looking cool, smart, and fun to looking confusing and dull.

idk your probably right it comes down to preference, but imo OP4 nor BLS didnt live up to the hype

As much as I hate the orange box, I'm gonna buy it. Episode 2 is just too badass looking.

There's a difference between the time it takes you to complete the game for the first time and how long it takes you to complete on runs after that. After the first time you know where to go and won't waste time looking around at everything.

Though maybe I missed something about what you were talking about.

I still spend about 12-14 hours in HL2 and I've gone through it at least 15 times. The game world is just awesome, I was pissed when I found out my computer doesn't like the original HL2 anymore. /fdisk motherfucker, what you say about that?

Valve just released this info.

Quote:
In case you missed it, the Black Box is no more, so PC gamers will get The Orange Box at $49.99 instead of the PS3 and Xbox 360 console price of $59.99. The individual components will be offered through Steam as well for PC owners to pick and choose.

I would guess that they will have a package of just the new stuff (EP2/TF2/Portal) for $40. Then maybe the individual prices will be $20-$25. Just guesses though.

Also, remember that Valve usually offers a discounted price when you preorder through steam.

I don't think they'll make the parts cheaper than the whole for this one Ghost. It's just the way they work, they want to push TF2 hard, knowing it won't sell great on its own.

BTW, DoD is only $10 now, yays!

New stuff, I took that as a pack of all three. I don't think they will split portal and TF2 from each other...

most games are linear so even if you were a first time player, you could easliy breeze through a game like HL2. the first time I played it, it probably only took my roughly 8 to 9 hours to beat it.

I dunno. I guess I'd rather take the time and experience the game rather than just rushing through it in a day or 2. There's a bunch of plot elements left in the environment in HL2 that you miss out on if you blow right by everything and don't take the time to look around and interact with everything you find. Valve is probably also expecting most people to do the same on their first play through.

That's what I didn't understand with one of my friends. We waited a while for HL2 to come out and when it finally did he spent the entire day blowing through it on easy and was done the day it came out.

But whatever floats your boat I guess.
