"Jesus Christ my axe is as big as the screen." "Is the Valkyrie actually losing armor each time we upgrade?" I liked the boss fight where there are like three respawn points in it, because that boss fight is fucking retardedly complicated until you figure it out and then it's a cakewalk. Anyway yeah I didn't play Dark Legacy. I remember the posters, but Legends was the only one I really played. And by played, I mean played. Unlocked everything. Had to fight the Griffin about twenty-three times to make him drop that fucking axe. Got like ten different characters up level 99 with level 99 familiars just for the hell of it, and still played them. That cartridge is long gone... I bought a used PlayStation copy, only to find out it didn't support 4-player. Promptly returned. Y'know what sucks? Legends came with a bitchin' pewter miniature of one of the four main classes, and I didn't play D&D at the time. As I recall, it was diced up with fingernail clippers and finally melted. Quote:
I've had games sitting in storage for longer than that without being plugged in and they work fine.

Beef Drop is a damned good port. Also, if anyone ever played Boulder Dash, it's being ported to the 2600(I believe)...and is coming along very nicely. I'm on the reserve list for that one. Edit: I have Gauntlet II for the Amiga.... probably the best arcade port EVER.

Fort those who liked metroid and mega man did you try Cave Story for the PC? Best freeware game ever. It came out a couple of years ago but I didn't find out about it until now and I am really enjoying it. It's this really well made metroidesque game with some RPG elements.

Metroid, the ORIGINAL Nintendo, especially after you found out it was a chick and she'd take more clothes off the faster you won the game. God I loved the 80s.

Apparently it has three different endings, the hardest one with a whole new last level and boss, and you can get different weapons depending on if you trade weapons early on. So it has some replay value! I wish I had the time to play it more right now...
Also the game was made by this one japanese guy who did it on his free time, kind of amazing considering how well done this game is. He is immensely talented, yet he doesn't even work as a game developper or anything like it. |

Took me forever and a day to find this, but here is my all time favorite video game song:
Chrono Trigger - Wind Scene http://www.hamienet.com/9726_Wind-Sc...-Overworld.mid Now, this is By far the BEST version of the song, and there are tons of different variations, especially in midi format. I remember listening to this for days when I was younger. |
