Yea... prices here in Cali are insane... A 1bed 1bath place is 750-900 easy, and 2bed 1bath is about 1050 at the minimum (usually in some ghetto areas), with average 2bed 2bath places at like 1250...

Rofl 82694... I used to live in Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa, Irvine, Rancho Santa Margarita, El Torro, Lake Forest, Anaheim, Santa Ana, Buena Park, and Burbank...
Never realized how many people from the west coast were on these boards... thought it was just me and Vampiricus. |

Fuck, I'd fly out for that. I'd borrow a camera and not touch a drop of liquor, just so I can record all the stupid shit you guys would do.
Iggy's and my buddy Cybergunn lives in the Philly suburbs. A house out here - we're talking like a shit 2 floor, 2 bed, 2 bath, will run you like $350K. Out in the Philly Suburbs you can get 2 floors, 4 bed, 3 1/2 bath for $200K and the taxes are cheaper by a wide margin. Location, location, location...

You pay for the climate in So Cal. I think the coldest night was about 40 deg Fahrenheit this year.

We've had temperatures drop down to the 20s here in San Diego this past winter, 82694.
I know for a fact that it was as low as 31 where I live specifically. Still, it's nothing compared to the midwest + northern east coasters, but for Cali... yea. |

The ol' lady and I are house hunting. We gave up on apartments. Nothing like waking up to your neighbors upstairs doing it every morning.
OR, the occasional cock roach... m'f'ers. OR, the flooding it had when it rained.. roflz. OR, the loud music that insisted on playing at 2am. I guess thats what I get for getting an apartment somewhat in the ghetto. Oh well. |

That's one of the reason's I hate the south. I think living here for 5 years straight is killing my hypothalamus because I've been freezing here in the house, when it's ~70F, and go outside on one of the rare occasions where it's around 40F outside, and not be cold outside. Or be freezing in the middle of summer in 90+ degree weather. But I think I'll be stuck here for a while longer

you cant get a closet for less than 1K in DC/NY/BOS/SF/LA/San Jose/Hawaii
my rent in dc is more than a persons mortgage in the majority of red states. Ihmhi had some good functional points but in terms of price, do you still have a question? BTW I pay 1195 per month for a 750 squarefoot 1 bedroom apt, and this is considered a good deal in dc. but i also went to school in nebraska so understand markets like that too. |
