its funny because microsoft already alienated epic by making them charge for gears of war dlcs, so now ut3 is a timed ps3 exclusive and mark rein keeps saying how much better it is on ps3 vs 360

Same. Actually I have almost no interest in TF2 whatsoever.

I admit TF2 might be fun... I mean, it is pretty much a completely different game at this point. FF is where my heart is, though. <3

The teleporter animation was old. I saw it in another video. I hadn't seen any of the taunts nor the first-person perspective from the pyro or the soldier. I noticed the HUD during the video, and I took a quick screen capture of it. It looks like there is no more armor, there is just health for the player. I saw that the soldier has 200 max health, the spy has 125, the pyro has 175, and the fatty has 300. It's in the bottom left hand corner, like TFC, and the ammo is in the bottom right corner.

If you look real quick during the video, you can also see the spy's mask disguise (which Doug references). Players on the same team as the spy will see the spy with a mask over his face of the class he is disguised as, whereas enemies will see him as that class. I think that's a very good idea, especially for new players. I hate playing on pubs and being beaten around by my own team. I was hoping one of the questions would be about friendly fire. I don't think Valve has mentioned if it is included in TF2. I'm wondering if it's a server-side variable like in TFC, or if it even exists at all.

I suggested an idea almost the same as what theyre doing for the spy in tf2, and everyone thought it was dumb.

I seriously doubt it. After all, if you are going to noobify a game....you don't leave in TK/armour stripping.

It's in TF2, therefore it is confirmed that it was dumb, no matter how much sense it makes. [/tf2bashing]

I mean, even in TFC you could see a Spy by hovering your cursor over him. FF has a solution like TF2's for identifying friendly spies; it is just less retarded. (What if the spy is turned around? /= )

Or they could do something different... it could be like the Devil May Cry games, Ninja Gaiden, etc.

You play different parts of the games as different characters, but you never meet. Gordon is running around with the Grav Gun, and Upog (My name for Unnamed Portal Guy, sounds kinda Eastern European d running around with the portal gun. They each do seperate things and might even see each other pass by one another (like with Gordon, Barney, and Shepard in Half-Life 1, OPFOR, and Blue Shift), but never actually interact.

It would sort of be merging the story crossover of the three HL1 games (which was pretty cool IMO) and putting them in one episode of HL2. Would be pretty sweet IMO.

Of course they could also do the cheap thing where portal dude dies and Gordon somehow ends up with the gun (do not see that happenin').

Third, they could end up showing that portal dude gets turned into a Combine and becomes Gordon's nemesis... imagine you chuck a rock at him with the grav gun only to have him open a portal and have it crack you in the back of the head.

The fourth and final option I can think of is Random Element X, where Valve does something completely cool that we never would have expected.

portal gun will transport mr freeman across space and time for an epic showdown with the overloards, ie zen hl1, but hopefully better executed this time.

I still don't like TF2 that much. It looks like it'll be fun, but it seems to have a different feel. Change isn't always bad, so I don't want to nay say it so early, especially not having played it yet. But I'm not really that stoked for it.

Portal on the other hand is continuing to look really badass and cool. I'm am also, of course, stoked for episode 2 (while I feel that it should have been released with the original game).

That is because there two types of personalities in this world - a negative and a positive.

If someone says "no" before they even think - that is a negative personality.

A positive is someone that says "yes", or a least considers the idea.

So the next time you suggestion something on the internet, or talking to someone in real life, and all the say is negative stuff, consider them to have a negative personality and move on.
