Frankly, a lot of folks tell me that I ain’t got a hope in you-know-what of becoming the President of the United States. I ain’t got a lot of money like Mitt “The Mormon” Romney. I ain’t pretty like John “Pretty” Edwards. I ain’t smart like Alan Keyes. And you wanna know something - I agree with you! But it ain’t my place to go against the word of God.

A month or so ago, God spoke to my from a framed portrait of Ronald Reagan we keep on our Bible table, saying, “Verily, Billy Bob, you shall be the next president of the United States of America. It is time that my children return to the principles that I set forth when I first founded America. Yea, I am sore disappointed by my chosen people. Thusly, shall I send you, Billy Bob, into the highest office in the land to do my work here in this greatest country on My green earth.”

I know what you’re thinking because I thought the same thing. Only problem is that I ain’t never done drugs and don’t drink liquor or even beer. I would have chalked it up to…well, I don’t know what I would have chalked up to, until my wife came in from the kitchenette with this puzzled look on her face.

“Billy Bob,” she asked kinda scared, “w-was that the voice of God I just heard?”

Well, that clinched it.

So, I put my trust in the Lord. What else can I do?
