Game is out FRIDAY in EU. I bought it. edit: Got a cheap retail. £21 something instead of £29.99.

This game is kinda similar to W.ET for you guys who know it,and a big part of this game playerbase comunity are old school dudes from a lot of diferent backgrounds even from your Quake live : ) For you guys who will just buy it if its a new TF Game, dont buy its not TFC or FF or TF2, but it does have some similarities. For the cod dudes kids and grow ups dont get it either you dont kill enemys with 2 bullets and you dont have airstrikes. If you want it because the singleplayer dont get it either , theres no singleplayer, its just multiplayer maps with bots aka L4d2 style singpleplayer exact same thing. However I have to say that BRINK is the most fresh, balanced, team oriented, fun, multiplayer game i played since TFC. Last edited by zE; 05-12-2011 at 07:47 AM. |

It looks novel, but I'm reading that it's so bug riddled as to be impossible to play online. I don't have an xbox, so it's only the PC version I'm concerned with.

Looks like it was way over hyped... That's the last time I fall for it. Though, I haven't played MP yet, still not out here in UK yet. I pirated it.
I now expect Duke Nukem Forever, Dues Ex, Rage, and any other game I like the look of to be shit.

If you didn't already expect that about DNF... you might want to get your brain checked.

I had problems but it must have got patched up, no problems at all here now, and on ATI card. Brink has Caltrops too

Patching must have ensued post release. I trust the guys I read, they aren't too biased and we share similar gaming preferences. If it remains strong, then I'll pick it up in a month when I know I'll have time to play it.

I was given the game. Honestly, I tried single player and it was... confusing and very very BAD. I'm told that multiplayer is much better and how the game was ment to play... We'll see...

Seems like it is the continuous updating that is making it playable. That is a damned nice change.

Brink looks awesome, from some small footage I immediately got the same feeling as games or canalzone2 on Demon servers at 3am....
Its not TFC nor is there any point emulating it, but its something different to the usual point and shoot. I dont game anymore but if I did I would be all over this, trying to get a community going. |

if you want a traditional fps campaign with a story and all that then you'll hate brink. if you want an online fps then you might like it a lot.
i've got it for the ps3 and i'm really liking it so far. the problems i've had are it can be REALLY confusing when you don't know the map, the bots can be ghey (far too good at times even if you select easy, and too bad at others), and the smg's (i.e. constant firing hitscan weapons) are boring as hell. however, if you play with humans (which you can do for all of the game if you want to) and get the more interesting weapons (shotgun is my fav so far), then the times i figured out the map layout and exactly what was going on i found it genuinely great fun. it's early days for me still atm (not even pld all the maps once yet), so for me i think the key is how fun the maps that currently confuse me become once i learn them. i won't know that for a while, but it's already given me more enjoyment online than any other fps on any console (and i've been looking for one i enjoy for ages) so i'm hoping that it continues. also, so far i'm not convinced that i'd want to play it competitively (on pc ofc) - this might sound silly, but because ppl can't aim nearly as well with noobsticks as with a mouse it makes using the movement really effective on console (which i really like.. cos charging about really can work!), whereas from what i'm hearing that's not always the case on pc.. |
