There's no need for mousewheel. Because FF has the quake style jumping, you can hold space while in air and it will jump on ground even if you release space.

Thats so stupid.. Bhopping using mwheeldown was what tfc is all about.
I and allot of others always play with the arrows.. Now ur forcing people to change how theyve played for years to how u like to play.. Simply fascisme. Use mwheeldown, then u got ur other hand free for general movement, what is more effective.. Uve prolly changed it for noob defence players that couldnt bhop properly.. And if u answer me that if i want to play tfc, i should fock off and play tfc I answer u, if u dont want to make a tfc game... FOKING DONT COPY EVERTHING FROM IT be more creative then and make ur own game The fact that people are still playing TFC says allot about FF .. |

Ummm I don't understand a bit of what you guys are saying but I usually just do wide side to side jumps while moving my mouse toward the direction of my jump. No speed, but I'm a pain in the ass to hit.

Not really. Unless you don't bhop at all. Well, you wouldn't properly anyway like that. Just makes things harder for ones self.

Remember, the BHop mechanic in FF is vastly different than it was in TFC. |

Bhopoing its lot easier in FF. In TFC i was a crappy bhoper, in FF i am decent. OK, not that mutch of imrove, but after 1 day playing and feelin wierd, FF bhop turn to be great and easier. It just needs time to adjustmens.
GG ppl, and bhop a lot |

TFC isnt about mousewheel bunnyhopping.. The pro people used space. I know this because i used to play with teams like uZ. and am friends with one of their starters IRL. IMO if you're saying that FF is n00b friendly for now allowing people to use mousewheel as a bhop substitute, you're being a hypocrite.
However, i do agree that bhop speed should be increased, but then again this is FF and not TFC. Its closely matched to TFC because it was made for people who like the gameplay of TFC? Correct me if im wrong but isnt TF2 noob friendly? I think FF is doing a great job so far with this game and i am very impressed. As seen in interviews with TF2 developers, they are impressed of FF as well. Must be doing something right. |

For Quake it's explained here, however be warned that bunny hopping in this guide refers to some other type of jumping which involves the forward key, while the bunny hop known from TFC (without forward key) is called "speed jumping" in this guide (QuakeWorld Jumping Part 3 - Speed Jumping). http://www.quakeworld.nu/upload/bunnyguide/ Guide for CS by Astrochimp: http://cszen.com/index.php?topic=1468.0 Flash animation: http://www.fidosrevenge.com/bhop/bhop.swf Guides for TFC Rainbow's guide: http://ukfortress.com/guides/bunnyhopping/ Dr_kazza's tips: http://forums.wireplay.co.uk/showthr...hreadid=239227 Tonster's guide: http://www.groovyfargo.co.uk/bytfc_a...nnyhopping.htm Guide for AG mod by CHiNX: http://agmod.planethalflife.gamespy....m#Bunnyjumping |

Actually you can use the mwheel to bhop in FF just fine. The only difference between TFC and FF is that in FF it's much easier to bhop since you don't need to worry about timing your consecutive jumps, but that's about it.
At the end of the day it's a matter of preference. |

I think when typing up a tutorial on anything for the mod we should generally stick to the practice of explaining it by using the default keys.
eg: anything referring to bhop should be done so by referring to the default jump key -> space bar. Anyone who is good enough to be changing their key structure can generally apply whatever is being said to their custom key config, but if you reference mwheelup / down for instance, then you run the risk of confusing the reader b/c for them that has nothing to do with jumping. Maybe a 'Getting started tut' and an 'advanced' tutorial should be implemented. IN the adv. tut. we could go into more detail about changing your key config's to accommodate for simpler and more efficient usage.

the other option is to code another jump command, maybe something like "+sjump" which maintains the old style of jump. That way players can use that command and attatch it to mousewheel. I'm not sure if it makes a difference or not, but would solve a lot of arguments lol.

well you can use +jump with the mouse wheel, I thin, it's just that you don't have to anymore so there is no use.

I wouldn't know because I haven't played FF yet this is why I'm asking. As we all know in FF a jump que has been implemented, so how can binding jump to mousewheel possibly work? It wouldn't right? Of course you'd jump..but it wouldn't have any timing so it would just be a regular delayed jump?
