in this pic
http://usera.imagecave.com/bumgravy/forty140012.jpg there is a hole in the background, is there a way to make it look like there is something back there? |

Waterfalls are hard to do I gather, i think id need custom textures to do it properly (think theres some in CSS but cant infringe copyright). Also I want to leave room for the sun effect coming through there. I have some ideas, Ill see how it goes.

Ive made a simple step by step guide to making bevelled curves, as seen in my map. Download it here if you would like to know how to make them!

Does the sun normally not reflect in the water? Or is it like that because of an early compile?

It looks like 44 fps with 4x, 6x, or 8x AA on, so depending on his setup, I'm sure it would vary quite a bit

Im not sure about the sun reflect, I do have everyhting on... The low fps is probably because I compiled with fast vis.

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!
This map keeps on getting better and better. I cannot believe the detail put into this. Match this up against any of the olf tfc maps just to take a quick comparision and you will shit your pants. It is a difference between night and day. I cannot wait to rocket jump all of this place. OMFG!!!!!!!!
You have ouotdone yourself Bum_gravy and you continue to do so. Tell me. Do you have the Beta of FF to test with your map? and what is the total download size per say do you think it is going to run when completed? DH |

I dont have the FF beta (i wish) so I'm just making educated guesses for distances in terms of concs and rocket jumps but I think ive got the scale OK, Ive designed it in such a way that If their are distance issues it won't be too much of a headache to tweak. In terms of BSP size, I cant say for sure but the last compile I did of the entire map ran to 25 megs, I cant remember what settings I compiled with and how this will differ to a fnal compile tho. I still have quite a bit of work to do on this, but im most of the way there now! |

Wait until a little after FF is released to put this map out. One so it isn't pushed behind all the others and two so its perfect . Obviously people will be playing dustbowl and all the other dev maps for a while.

Why would he put out an FF map if FF wasn't out? That doesn't even make sense. At best it would be an HL2DM map.

What he meant was:
Don't release your map right after FF is out because everyone will be playing official maps anyways and it's also going to give you more time to make it better. |
