Something wrong with the knife hitboxes? I tried to knife this group of 5 guys and i didn't even hit them once, and i tried swiping the knife probably 10 times.

I don't find the infantry to APC stuff unbalanced.
My main class is support, my brother's is medic. We often play together, and don't really encounter problems. We play on servers that often have good team players, so one of a few things happen when an APC comes a rollin. 1. Take it out with a rocket launcher emplacement thingy 2. Have an anti-tank guy take it out 3. Have an engi take it out 4. Have a spec-ops c4 it 5. Grenade it ( it works) 6. Hide 7. Die See? There are a lot of options. |

I do find it unbalanced at times, but only on maps where there's a high vehicle to person ratio. Everyone ends up rollin' instead of runnin', so if you aren't anti-tank, you're pro-dead. Regardless of all the available techniques, if you see an APC / Tank, then you'll die pretty sharpish unless you're fortunate enough to have cover. On city maps, I favour playing Assault as the GL can take out most light vehicles without a problem. On larger, more open maps like Dragon Valley, I tend to stick to Anti-Tank and use vehicles a lot more. That way I'm equipped to deal with anything, and the chances are that if I have to deal with infantry, it'll be close range (SMG is decent enough against most people, as most people suck).
The best way to defeat tanks / APCs is to wait for them to see one of your teammates, then get behind them and start hitting them in the back / sides. It only takes a couple of rockets from behind, and they won't see you with a bit of luck. I've found that tackling armour head-on is pretty much suicide, no matter how sharp your in-and-out is (as the splash damage of armour weapons = you can die even if you're out of view or a bit unlucky) -- plus you can guarantee your teammates will miss even if you don't. |

I'm quite a fan of being a pilot, so I do a lot of low fly-bys killing tanks. Me and my brother get in an attack chopper and pretty much go nuts.

as much as i enjoy flying, i cant pilot for shit (no previous experience in flight sims), and when i'm in a tank im forever getting attacked by gunship choppers and by C4 etc, so i stick to playing infantry. so much more fun, until you run into armor :(

I've never done any flight simulator's. I've probably logged around 6 or 7 hours of solo playing on LAN to learn the aircrafts. Once you get the hang of it, it's not hard at all.

I go as fast as I can and as low as I can. I try to go almost along the ground, so that I can level out to get the best shots at tanks.
It took a lot of practicing on open maps like Gulf of Oman. Just get in the chopper and bomb the shit otua osme tanks. I still can't use the jet's drop bombs, only the heat-seeking. |

The chaingun I can't use. I can only do the heat-seeking missiles against enemy jets/choppers.

You can RAPE SOME ASS in the 2 seater jet(s) that has the second person using the camera view and locking onto ground targets and then shooting missiles at said targets PROVIDED the pilot gives you lots of time to lock stuff up - meaning they need to fly straight and slow-ish. But once you lock on... it's over...

so true :D
playing on the oilfields is the best for that sort of play, dive bombing from a large height gives time to lock on, and avoids most obstacles |
