I just find that there is too much stuff everywhere. Too many options and symbols and stuff.

Insipid comments are little help to anyone. While I can understand how a small number of y'all might have an overinflated sense of entitlement, having put so much of your valuable time and effort (sweat and blood!) into these forums: please get over yourselves. Not having everything exactly the way you want it is, ultimately, a fact of life -- one that you shouldn't just now be learning via an online video-game forum.

Which isn't to say that we're ignoring the need to import the FF skin or to fine-tune the forum settings, obviously the goal is to make the forums run smoothly.

vBulletin is, even during this adjustment period, infinitely better, both for users and admins. Just bear with us for a while...

Constructive criticism is very important in any endevour, and we appreciate that some people didnt like the change. However vBB is much better on the server and much easier for admins to manage. Every time there was a phpbb upgrade mirv had to devote time to fixing the scripts when he could of been developing the game. The old skin is being ported and will be ready asap.

And lastly ( and yes a bit meanly) why should any dev team for any product give a beta spot to someone who cant give constructive critisism and throws a way over the top wobbly if somethings happens they dont approve of?

Over inflated? I would gladly help this place in -ANY- way I can. Long ago I was hoping I'd be able to help moderate this place. But instead it was proven otherwise when you all chose three of your friends. My original post just said I didn't like the new theme and I'd stick around hoping for something better and if it didn't get better I'd go somewhere else. Then when people started insutling me and calling me names and telling me to get over myself I started getting hostile. And last but not least when I have to hear "I run the Catacombs" I'm not going to suddenly change my opinion. I don't like the Catacombs. I could care less if the place exploded or was voted #1 website of all the internet. In this very topic I have even offered to PAY for a better theme until you finished yours. But sure I'm just arrogant because I frequently visit here. Forgive me for actually showing an interest in this place and wanting the best. I have done my best to help people out in finding the answers to their questions. Hell if it wasn't for me and a few others this place would just be full of unanswered questions in the topics. Not a fault of yours or any of the dev team it would be impossible for you to answer those all yourself. That is why the "regulars" are here. But if I'm not over myself and too arrogant for your taste I'll gladly leave this place right now. I'll not come back. You'll not find me in IRC and you'll hear of my arrogance no more. No I don't have a long history of playing in the higher ranked clans for TFC. No I'm not affiliated with -any- fortress website. No I haven't played with any of the devs. No I don't know any of you on a personal level. There are plenty of people just like this that go over looked on these boards.

What did any of this have to do with beta testing?

Noone in the dev-team knew SomeOldGuy before he kindly volunteered to help out with these forums. Please think again about making accusations as they wont help anyone.

How is that possible when even I had heard of him? For a true twist of irony my post was originally saying that he was the only one worthy of the title "Forum Leader". But I felt Jiggles and Storm might take offense to it and that is not my intention (it still isn't).

My main point was just that there is a ton of unused potential in alot of the members here. To say we are too high on ourself for not wanting this change or theme is the most arrogant thing in this topic right next to the guy doing his best to pimp the Cats out and get it advertised on FF. I just wanted to help out. I offered to help the only way I can. I can't map. I can't skin. I can't model. I can't make textures. I have tried all hoping I could find a way to help but I couldn't. More and more however I am seeing you don't want my help.

Don't call me arrogant because I haven't done anything when I have tried everything.

I surely hope you aren't getting angry with me rebo. I've always held you in high respect for what you do around here. I had alot of fun in my early days here trying to compete with everyone to get that 30-0 score in HL2DM. Or maybe it was 20-0 I don't remember.

Sobe, I dont like the new forum design, I think its ugly and it sucks. But I do realise that a new design will come as soon as possible, and do appreciate that the change was necessary due to server-load/admining. I've voiced my concerns constructively to friedbunny and he appreciates that. What I didnt do however is go "omfg the forums suck im leaving" that is bound to get peoples backs up and is very disrespectful to be honest.

I appreciate the fact that you want to help, but saying that the devs dont care just because we changed to a better ( but currently ugly) forum system is way over the top.

I'm pretty sure the term arragont was used simply because it seemed like you were taking these forums as if they were yours, wanting them exactly to how you wanted them, seemingly coming across as if you had put all this effort into them.

As for me "pimping" The Catacombs, I have no need to nor the desire to do so on these forums or any forums for that matter. Someone asked what The Catacombs were and I responded appropriately. And the only reason why I brought them up in the first place was simply to give a reference to my experience in dealing with vBulletin and phpBB software.

Complaining about something that will be fixed imminently and is already the primary concern of the person in charge is, at the very least, pointless and annoying whining, if not arrogant entitlement.

The moderators proved to us that they were responsible and trustworthy. It'd be silly to assume that we base our hiring practices solely on nepotism or favoritism to the exclusion of competence, just as it'd be silly to give moderation powers to completely unproven unknowns.

(Also, an interesting tidbit: The Catacombs are, by a factor of 9, the largest supporter of this mod, judging by site referrals. In February, their 600,000 dwarfed the next closest's 67,000. Take this as you will.)

Nothing wrong with needing to rego to view, but there is when accounts need to be approved and aren't
