Aligning Props
I have a real problem aligning props with the grid, is there a special way you can do it?
When I right click and goto Align to grid it still doesnt fit, and the red box isnt in line with the grid. |

A lot of the props box's arent set sizes. Its a pain, the only way I figured of doing tiny adjustments is to use the handles, like you would resize a brush. Drag it out one way and it nudges it across. I'm sure theres an easier way though.

If you select 2 entities then the prop will align it's edges to the grid, instead of it's center. The other object can be anything.
Also, Ctrl+m is the transform menu, where you can move objects by .5 or .25 or whatever. |

Yeh most of the standard props arent 16*32 or whatever scale so they very rarely fit on the grid properly. Just do your best.
The hard bit comes when moving multiple props - you cant align them the same with more than one selected. So I do similar to the above picture ^^^^ but select some brushwork that is much bigger than the props on both the x and y, plus the prop and then move them. The you delete the copied brushwork. They should be in the right place now. I used this on the lights on well fr a lot. |
