Humble Bundle
Humble Bundle did a good job at releasing some great games like Dead Space 1 & 3, Mirrors Edge & Medal of Honor.
https://www.humblebundle.com/?originbundle All for $1 minimum? Why yes, this deal is a steal. And for $4.50, you also get Battlefield 3 and Sims 3. Last edited by KubeDawg; 08-14-2013 at 08:21 PM. |

All the games except for BF3 and Sims 3 are available through steam with this deal. So pay $1 minimum to get all the games and you will get a steam key as well as an origin key.

Is there a major problem with Origin? Just picked all of these games up for $5, I think that's a superb deal.
I have friends who use Origin and have (almost) no complaints whatsoever. |

It's spammy, incomplete, redundant with Steam, and likes to use cpu and network bandwidth randomly for no reason that's beneficial to me in any way.
First time I used it it would leak memory after closing certain games. I'd hope they at least fixed that by now. Main reason for me is I don't support having multiple CDS's running because every large publisher wants a little bit of the steam pie. Especially EA. It's anti-consumerism at it's worst. Oh, I see.
Well, I don't own any of those games, so I will be using all the Steam keys. I put in $5 just to round it up. Unfortunately I'm not sure whether I can run The Sims 3 without Origin at all, but we will see. I might have to use Origin anyway if that is the case, because I have wanted to try out that game for quite some time. EDIT: Looks like some of The Sims 3 is available on Steam, but not everything. Guess it's Origin for The Sims 3 for me, then. Just looking towards the future, assuming I like the game... probably will be picking up all the expansions. I'd play BF3 if I had the time to invest in another multiplayer game. Last edited by CaptainAhab; 08-14-2013 at 11:51 PM. |

Just make sure that you don't have Origin set up to start on launch, and only run it when you play a game, close it when you close the game.
Also close it when it's downloading when you play any other game just to be sure. Wonder if I still have the problem where downloading BF3 resets when I close Origin. I got it free from buying SimCity (which is just bad) before everything was fixed with it, and I never finished downloading it because it just reset the DL. :P Also, I think if you download the DLC for The Sims 3 through Origin, you can copy and paste the files into the Steam version and use them.
