Comms
Watching the good streams by Voss and Hadez, I noticed there are some communication between players which doesnt happen inside FF.
Is there a supplementary program that is used that I need to download? or is this just a party chat between players? Watching the streams back I seemed to miss a lot of incomings on reloaded last night as I guess it was in an external program? |

People are probably using mumble during the game so that's why you can't hear it

yeah some of us use mumble but thats weird that they're comming in mumble and not in game during a pickup. usually its used to bullshit off topic during pickups / for actual matches (since theres like zero lag compared to the 2 second delay ingame)

Thanks guys, will look into mumble then. I did notice there was a delay on the comms as I used voice_loopback to check my mic volume.
I watched Voss & HAdez streams after matches just to see what I missed and how other people react to situations (Flag moving etc) to try and get some more understanding of the game. Hadez stream of the pickup on ff_reloaded last night definitely had more incomings than in game - and the name wasnt coming up on screen like usual so I guessed it was an external program |

Honestly, the amount of comms that occurs ingame really depends on the players. Obviously in league matches there will be tons of comms, but in pickups it really depends on your team.
There are a few player who give alot of comms, like neon, alex, homie, hadez, alextric, vinny, me... and then there are a few players who give no almost no comms other then the occasional incoming, who I'm not going to name. In pickups you don't really need comms, but sometimes I wish they were more common. In TF2, when players are messaged the server IP for pickups they are also messaged a mumble server, and every player is required to go on mumble. I wish people would comm more in FF. |
