Sorry Jack...... IGGY'S BACK!!!
Man, it has been a long time since I've been on here. I apologize, everyone.... but real life has severely interfered with my online life for the past 8-9 months.
So much to catch up on, but I'm ready to do it. While I still have an assload of work to do around my house, and a short time to get it done.... I'll be on here much more often.

Thanks for the welcome, guys!
Life has been giving me one swift kick in the bollocks after another. My grandmother(91) got very sick back in Dec, and was in the hospital for Christmas. We almost lost her to pneumonia(again)... but she pulled through and is doing much better. Not back up to prior to the illness, of course. She's been diagnosed with COPD, and we had several Oxygen devices installed in the house, along with a portable tank that she can take along when she goes to the store. Or, more accurately, when I take her to the store. She finally admitted that she can no longer drive, although that bit is really a sore point with her. She was always independent and a capable driver. Her mind is still pretty sharp, but she is slowly going downhill in that department. It's really stressful to deal with. So much so, that a few months ago my doctor put me on Prozac, so I could deal with it better. Then, I got laid off from work. The stress from having to deal with work, Ma, and the other things around here I've had to deal with..... got organized. I didn't need the Prozac anymore, and I've been off of it since becoming unemployed. At least the company helped me get unemployment, which really helped. Then again, I had been there 10 years, so the way I see it, they owed me that much. Right before I got laid off, my Grandmother got an offer for a refinance of her reverse-mortgage, which would net her another $11k. I told her that I would only sign the papers(being her sole heir, I had to) if I got enough money(roughly half of that) to make the needed repairs around the house. I had no idea how I was going to find the time to get it all done, but I knew 2 of the projects HAD to be done by professionals. All the rest were minor, and I could do them myself. She agreed, and gave me the money. Once I got laid off, I suddenly had the time to take care of what needed to be taken care of. So I've been working around the house, while looking for another job. Since 99% of the places I've applied to want you to apply online, it's really convenient that I can put in those applications, and then get work done around the house. So far, I'm still unemployed, but there are a few prospects I'm going to look into in a week or two. In any case, I've kept busy. You know, most people would be highly pissed at being let go by a company they had given their all for for a decade. I'm not. I knew something was going on, and while I miss the job(remember, I loved working there), I can't help but think that God had this happen for a reason. The reason is that I needed to take care of some things around the house, care for my Grandmother, and the right job will come along when the time is right. I'm not stressing over it. Sure, it's tightened our budget a bit..... but you know what? That's fine. I've had to learn to live on less than this, and at least I have something coming in. I also have a loving wife, a great (step)son, and some very helpful other members of the family that are helping me out. Things are happening quickly, but I feel it's all for the best. My next employment will present itself soon enough, as I've never been unemployed for more than 6 months since I started working @19. I'm 46 now. Yeah, I'm not young anymore, and I can't physically do what I used to, but I've got a lot of knowledge, skills, and experience to compensate. All I need is the right opportunity, and I honestly believe it will come along at the right time. The thing is, I'm not dealing with all of this alone, and that has to be the biggest blessing I could ask for.

God does indeed work in mysterious ways, a strikingly similar thing happened to my dad not to long ago now. Hes about 10 years older than you.

Right on. Well one thing I know is that usually when one door closes, others have the ability to open easier. Find what you love and pursue it as a career if you can. Money is not everything, but if you can do what you love and get paid for it, all the better. Good luck with your employment issues, it sounds like you have a loving family that will be there for you no matter what.
