The egg can therefore only exist if it has been created inside a chicken.

I like to think that the egg came first. Due to evolution/genetic mutation, a chicken hatched.

Birds evolved from dinosaurs. The real question is which came first the dinosaur or the egg?

(answer is the dinosaur)

They are correct; a chicken would have been born from an egg that may have come from an extraordinarily chicken-like animal, but the egg is defined by what laid it, so it was not a chicken egg - it was a chicken precursor egg.
