Hi. Use an electric shaver. You said you use to, so why not anymore? Probably cheaper in the long run.

If you don't have bad eyesight, you can shave in the shower using a mirror. This would reduce the issue that the cream might be causing. Also, I would get a REAL razor rather then a disposable one. You get better control and better quality. While fresh blades are a bit expensive, they are worth it and you shouldn't need to change very often.
If NOTHING works, it could be the pressure of the razor in which an electric razor might actually help. Personally, I like the old-school razors... but if you have to, you have to. |

I use the gillette fusion, and I keep one for my nuts and one for my face, and just swap them out as per the job required.
I brush my teeth, and shave in the shower. So I'll keep my head under the hot running water while I brush my teeth. Then, I'll wash my hair, and use that same lather to lather up my face and let both sit for a minute (I don't know if it actually helps with the shaving, buy it definately doesn't hurt it). Then when it comes to actually shaving, I just use shampoo. None of that shaving cream or shaving gel stuff is actually a lubricant, so it's really not doing much. If you truly want a real shaving cream, you need to get the stuff you lather up and apply with a brush (like you see the barbers do in the movies). But I've tried tons of different creams and stuff, and honestly plain old shampoo works the best for me. |

I take clippers (without the comb attachment) to my head and face once a week or so. Too lazy to shave properly.
Credge is your man for proper shaving tips.
