Two bad things about the coop.
1. It makes the beginning of the game in single player incredibly hard with certain characters. 2. For some reason my group had to fuck with all sorts of settings about a week after the game came out in order to get the multiplayer to work again. We had to open ports that had been closed before, change .ini stuff, and just tweak it until it worked. But I dunno, I don't think that happens to many people. We always have to do that kind of stuff with games... it's just this time it was really bad.

After opening ports to the host machine I had no issues with invite co-op whatsoever.
Also, the game gets significantly harder with each person that joins, but the loot's a shit load better as well. And when all of you have mods that give bonuses to the entire team... it's goddamn awesome, it really is.

Korey and I got Borderlands yesterday. The first thing I thought of - "I'am playing something that came out of the movie Heavy Metal." Which is not a bad thing.
The gameplay reminds me of Diablo II (with the special skills and skill tree), Fallout, and mixed with the movie Heavy Metal. Overall, Boderlands is one of the best games I have seen in a long time. I just wish it used Steam for its multiplayer instead of gamespy. And Gearbox should have setup some dedicated servers. Kinda like what Valve did with left 4 dead - so people could create their own game on a dedicated server, instead of having to mess with their firewalls and hosting their own games. The first DLC for PC is out.
Edit: Sigh, reading up on it shows that a lot of people are having Securom problems. Avoid the DLC for now if you don't like Securom.

Well, I read up some more on it and it turns out that anyone with the latest Borderlands patch has Securom!
Isn't that just fucking peachy?
