sv_allowupload "1"
Fixed my problem downloading maps by entering this command on my client.
Moya, please try the saame. FF team, is this command 0 by default? Is there any reason that it should be? It seems that it was keeping me from downloading maps from my server (fast downloads is disabled.) |

I'm not sure how that helped you on your client? I always understood it as:
sv_allowupload 1/0 - is for servers cl_allowupload 1/0 - is for clients and, no, cl_allowupload is defaulted to 1

Im not sure either, but apparently for the client to accept files, both commands must be set to 1. Or perhaps I am back to the circular logic and something is wrong with my server?

sv_allowupload is in the e0 server as 1

reaper, set sv_allowupload to 0 ON YOUR CLIENT. And tell me if you still have no issues, I'm convinced that it has an effect on clientside.

clients by default have it to zero.
I tried to connect his server, to try a skill map he´s doing, and could not dl it, had to turn sv_allowdls to 1. Last edited by zE; 11-06-2009 at 01:31 PM. |

Anyone else able to verify this for us?
Running a custom map on my server. If you're using a stock config from the client install of 2.4, then you will not be able to download the map. If you set sv_allowupload and cl_allowupload to 1 in console, and try again, you will download the map. This is killing my server traffic, an new players cannot download custom maps from me. =( |

Confirmed when connecting to your server. Tested with a fresh install. Two attempts to download the map, then "sv_allowupload 1" on client.
EDIT: Also affects custom sprays. Will not sync client. Code:

I had cl_allowupload set to 1, so I tried setting sv_allowupload to 1 to try to dl the map Mono had on his server, and it wouldn't work.
Mono, have you made sure to set sv_allowupload and sv_allowdownload to 1 in your server config? If so, it should allow anyone to download just fine. Also, are you using a fast dl server because if it's not hosted on the fast dl server, I think it might have problems being downloaded. I ended up having to download the map manually in order to get it to work. |
