I see a few peeps on my Steam friends list playing this and it looks intriguing. Anyone here tried it out yet?

I pirated it for a very short time. I couldn't run it well, but it's kind of fun.
You go through waves of infected monsters, then upon killing all them you can go to a shop and buy weapons. You can choose perks, specific ones that give you bonuses like more inflict more melee damage, more explosive damage, more armor, etc. There's also like a 1 second of slow motion that happens randomly when you either kill a monster or gib them with a weapon. Kind of cool. You should look up some videos of it. I think 6 people can play at a time against lots of waves of (you know what, I'll called them infected) infected. |

I bought it over the weekend and I'm more pleased with paying $20 for this purchase than I am paying $40 for Left4Dead the previous weekend. Both were impulse-y buys after I upgraded my pooter.
It's pretty damn fun and definitely worth $60. The game divides players into six seperate roles: Medic, Support (Shotgun specialist), Marksman (duh), Commando (SMG specialist), Berserker (Melee specialist), and Firebug (fire specialist). The big pain in the ass is that to advance in levels you have to basically grind. Like to advance levels in Support, you need to do damage with shotguns and weld shut doors. Bonuses typically include carrying more ammo, more damage, less recoil, etc. Marksman is still pretty fucked on account of crappy headshot detection. Even with all this it's pretty damn good IMO. But whatever you do, do not start the game on Normal. Normal is not too difficult until you get to the boss, and then you get raped with a minigun. I haven't seen someone survive it yet. Test out the weapons on Beginner and get into a role you feel comfortable with. Once you're around Level 2 (which won't take very long, except with Marksman due to the aforementioned issues), then progress to Normal. Proceed to cry when The Patriarch teabags your corpse and fucks your mom.
