Checking internet usage?

For some reason, whenever I close Call of Duty 4 via Steam, my internet seems to get chewed up by a background process. When I ping Google through CMD I get a steady 100ms in a good situation. Pinging Google after playing Call of Duty 4, my ping returns somewhere between 300-900. I figured this was Punkbuster, suspiciously relaying information to its servers about whatever the fuck.

So, I ended all the Punkbuster processes in my Task Manager. The problem continues. Question.. Does anyone know of a program that can log processes and their internet usage so I can find out what process or processes is/are specifically chewing through my internet? I'm going to do a spyware scan now. Kinda odd it only happens after I play Call of Duty 4 though. I played Team Fortress 2 earlier with no consequences.

Scan for viruses, malware, and rootkits first... I can't think of a program off hand, but I'll ask around.

Maybe steam itself? Did you try closing steam after playing COD4 and see what happens?

This is old but doesn't seem to be answered:

netcat windows port from linux and netstat built into windows command line.

identifies connection with process id and ergo program.

Also security task manager from Neuber software (free trial). I HIGHLY recommend security task manager.

I had a similar issue I never resolved. Reloaded windows because I am pretty sure the network stack was corrupt. You can rebuild the network stack but it's just friggin easier to toast windows and re-install or load an image from initial install.
