SLI with different GPUs
I'm getting my replacement 9800GTX/+ in soon. Could I run it with the 8800 I am using as a backup in SLI? I have a 750W PSU, so that shouldn't be an issues (I think?).
In simple terms, a 9800 and 8800 in SLI... possible? |

Not possible. Has to be the same GPU. 9800 with a 9800 or an 8800 with an 8800.
Preferably the same exact model from the same manufacturer to prevent any complications that might arise. |

He pretty much summed it up. Nvidia SLI requires the same GPU, the only real difference you can have is the card's vendor (XFX, EVGA, PNY, etc.) If one card has a faster core clock, it will slow down to match the other one.
For future knowledge, if you are ever interested in ATi crossfire, you could crossfire any card that is an HD 4800 card. For example, an HD 4850 and an HD 4870 could be crossfired, because they actually use the exact same drivers.
