Turning Visual Nade Timer Off
I just got a new computer, and I am getting all my settings back to how I like them. I remember seeing a post before to turn the visual nade timer off, but I cant seem to find it now. I have tried searching and cant find anything. Could someone point me in the right direction or tell me how to do this? I know its possible because I had it shut off on my old comp.

Anybody got some input out there? Maybe someone can move this thread to a different section of the forums that more people goto? Perhaps general discussion, or delete thread and I will make a new one in general discussion.
I find it odd that I cant find the original thread about the visual grenade timer anywhere, when I know it was on these forums somewhere. I remember having to open some file and have to change a few things, but I have no idea where that was at. Maybe visual nade timer is gonna be able to be toggled in 2.2, and thats why the original thread was deleted? |

I remember the thread distinctly... it's somewhere in hudlayout.res if I remember correctly.

My guess would be that you would move it off the screen with hudlayout.res
Pretty much the same thing I did with the one for tim_ to clear the screen's for the POTM. |

Hey, I'm actually the creator of the original thread. I just reinstalled tonight (haven't played since before 2.0 patch) and was looking for the thread too. Anyway, I remember how to turn them off:
open HudLayout.res with notepad and search for text "HudGrenade1Timer". You should see the properties for both HudGrenade1Timer and HudGrenade2Timer now, which is what we want to make invisible. However setting visible and enabled to 0 does not do the trick! What you have to do is edit "wide" and "tall" to both say 0. And then no more distracting visual grenade timer |

If I just had to copy and replace, I would be willing to send it to other peeps so they dont have that damned visual bar. I remember doing it before, and there were a few things in there with similiar names of hudgrenade1 and 2, and I switched a couple of the wrong ones, and had to look thru all of it again and switch them all back and go at it again. BTW I love the Squints avatar, I just watched the Sandalot the other day and it brought back some memories.....MMMhmm Wendy Preprocorn... |
