FF Quickie League
Got 2 leagues I am working on creating and sparking the interest here.
1st is a league called FF Quickie League Which would be on a weekly basis using many different random maps. The idea is to see who in the fastest time can get the flag and cap with no defenders. Time starts when you leave the spawn and stops when you cap. Of course a demo would need to be recorded for proof and submitted to me with results. Also you may do all classes each week and each class will have its own results. No real rules just get the flag and cap as fast as possible. I think this could actually be fun!! 2nd is a Mulch League Which would be with soldiers or demos. First to 20 out of 2 rounds and results sent to me along with a screenshot. No rules here either other than standard mulch rules. Each week I will schedule 2 matches per player and you will have to get together on completing match being given a weeks time to complete starting on Monday ending on Sunday. Each player will match other players 3 times in rotating schedule over a few weeks time. Length depends on number of players participating. Now yes I know this sounds a little gay but if ya don't like it don't signup. This is a dusty idea of these 2 leagues and I may need some help if anyone is interested so hit me with comments and questions!!! Well you wont actaully start until you leave spawn and I will specify each week in this case which spawn counts, hrmmmm thanks for noticing that. But in results I will also specify which spawn was used.

It's gonna be difficult to have functioning leagues for a game with a player base this small.

any map suggestions to get league started? Gonna basically go through every map possible as time goes on. Wanna build a database of times.
The standings will be based on a points system map to map. 19 points - 1st 17 points - 2nd 15 points - 3rd 13 points - 4th 11 points - 5th 9 points - 6th 7 points - 7th 5 points - 8th 3 points - 9th 1 points - 10th 11th or above will recieve 1 point for submission and entered into database of times. lite`mE -mentalERROR- FF Server: 8.9.16.23:27015 http://me.clanservers.com/ FF Quickie League / FF Mulch League |

Please make available any scripts that you have for demo recording, and any timer settings you have.
If players need to review their demos with pencil and paper in hand in order to get their time, I don't see this going very far. Also, thanks for the example. For league play, the demos should not be available until after points are awarded, as 1 person discovering the optimal path can drastically change the entire event. To LUA peoples: Can we get a script that we can drop into our base_ctf that will display a stopwatch timer when you pick up the enemy flag, and stop it when you capture? That would really help to grow the tricking community. Thanks. |

Heres how I did my own time and will do like wise for others demos. I binded keys at start of map for starting a demo named (ex. monkeygrtesk) and then binded a key to stop the demo. I start recording right before I leave the spawn and stop it when I cap. Then for myself and anyones good I go back and watch the demo once happy with my run and stopwatch myself and can also use the timer in game at top of screen for map time remaining. I would strongly advise people to review there demos and stopwatch them in case there are any problems with the time I get. It wont take long to rewatch the demo considering you are grabbing flag and capping with no defense.
And no I would not post anyones demos until results are posted. 1 thing I figured people would be worried about with this league is others seeing there strategys but I see it like this, you can spectate people in pubs and it will help those struggling with FF to better understand how the skilled folks do it. and well in my case even the unskilled..... And yes a timer in game would be nice. I don't have the capability of creating this type of thing. You can always watch the time left on map like I stated above and leave spawn on say 4:50 and if you cap on 4:25 then it took you 25 seconds and I only used a decimal because of stop watch.
