Fortress Forever - A Gigabye for a Fancy Picture?

Okay. So, I've decided to stop being a pig-headed TF2 player and check this thing out. I have my doubts and it's not looking too hot right now. I spent several hours downloading and installing this game. But when I opened up the folder where I installed it to and tried to play it the icon turned out to be a picture image of the logo. Now, I saw the last message about Steam, so, I restarted Steam, went into my games list, not a thing. I check tools, media everything! No Fortress Forever. Now, I checked the forums and I do have source SDK Base and all that crap. Tell me this, did I spend a gigabyte of space and two hours just to download a fancy friggen picture? If not, how do I actually play the damn game!?

Stupid question, where did you install it to?

My C-drives Program Files. Tried both of them.

Install it to

Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\SourceMods

and then restart Steam.

If it's not in Sourcemods it will not work.

Could I not just transfer the files into the new folder?

Just a fyi, this is the process for all third-party source mods. There are a few out there, try em out.

theres no need to try any other mods out you have already found the best one
