Hey upgrading server need some advice

Back in the day Linux was by far superior than windows/NT etc etc.. Right now my server is runnin linux. I'm upgrading to a dual Xeon Motherboard with Dual Quad Core Xeon's and 8 gigs of ram. My question, Is linux still a night and day performance difference? If i could get my hands on Windows Server is it worth it? What do you guys think? .rAp3D.ChaunboT

Most of your server companies that run windows servers are using window's server 2003. Now with a windows server you don't get the auto restart ability as far as I know. A Linux server you can use a script to auto restart the server if it crashes, this to me is the main convince of a Linux server.

Do you get better performance I'm not really sure, I've played on both. I would go with what ever OS you are most comfortable with Unless you want to try something new.
