once again, it uses the resources MUCH more effiently. it uses the ram, organizing things, unlike XP, just leaves it there and does nothing. you can disable the ram extra usage, look for the service named SuperFetch. Not to mention, it has a much better kernal. Regardless, Windows 7 will be superior to both.

Maybe you can explain why just about every side by side test shows vista running slower then XP?

Examples:

http://www.gamespot.com/features/6182806/p-6.html

http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/23...mparison-vista

http://blogs.zdnet.com/hardware/?p=1395&page=4

Most test show vista running 4% - 14% slower then XP. In rare cases with ATI video cards vista shows a very slight increase in FPS.

Back in Feburary of 2008, test shows that 70% of the time vista will run slower then XP.

I am not seeing if the version of vista they were using was the default install, or had the OS been tweaked? I do not see how vista could ever run faster then XP with a default install - meaning all services and "security" measures in place.

But vista is suppose to use resources MUCH more efficiently? Vista is a fine example of bloatware.

i knoe it's totally useless to even talk to you, as you're one of those types of people. anyways

does 4% REALLY matter? I mean REALLY? That's just cherrypicking. And more recent tests show that vista is the same as XP now. the only thing wrong with Vista now is it's bad rep, as proven here. ther' nothing actually wrong with the OS itself, just the people think it's cool to hate MS.

There's also many benefits to Vista

New almost rewritten kernal
new aero interface
much better security
more features, like instant search
and more efficient RAM usage
and more shit i cannot remember

if ALL that shit doesnt cause a big slowdown (which it doesnt) that's pretty good. Vista uses the RAM, and moniters what programs you use, when idle. and does other things, than just sit there. I'm beginning to doubt you've even tried vista, in that case, you really cannot say anything

I think that may be the problem. A dearth of helpful answers.
