I can play the game just fine... I'm getting the usual 130-250 fps and my ping is decent on all of the us servers. Only During game play it looks like every single person is lagging like crazy. It looks like I have a frame per every other second... Occasionally I see my rockets are messed up. for ex, they fire a second after i shoot, same thing with concing.

I've reinstalled 2.1 several times so i know its not any mod I have, I've disabled any spy ware I was running at the time. I also turned my steam friends off, turned off limewire and any internet that was on. Basically the only thing running on my computer was the game. And nothing was changed, now TF2 was acting the same as well.

Sounds like Lag Spikes.

Sometimes they happen without reason (maybe a program autoupdating or not enough net capacity at that time?). I've had it too, and jumped from 90 to 600+ ping. It solves alone in my case though.

Did you fix your rates? Sounds like it might be the problem.

Most people don't fuck with their rates and the game plays like shit.

Fuck, I gotta do this for like three mods.

You know, damn near everyone says the same numbers, something like 30000, 60, and 60? Why isn't that just in our default config?

cl_cmdrate 100
cl_updaterate 100
rate 30000

Default for servers:
sv_maxcmdrate 100
sv_maxupdaterate 100
rate 30000

Rate for linux servers seems to be capped at 10000. I've tried changing this via the server config or via console but it seems it just won't become any higher
