Add distance to objective icons, or even paths for those who don't know what halls to follow.

Also, if admin not present, you could always make a plugin to kill the person with the flag who's inactive for a certain amount of time.

You could also make it clearer to them that THEY have the flag. Even I occasionally miss the icon or vox.

Also give the target icon some more meaning. I think it only displays a crosshair-ish thingy right now? If you put some text somewhere on the screen or near the icon telling them what is of utmost importance for them to do right now, they should get the picture a bit quicker.

i disagree. they're not our target audience. people need to get to grips with FPS, then team FPS before getting into fortress play.

i'd say we need to chase after people who were brought up playing on different FPS engines, like down the quake/UT lines.

Yeah man, we shouldn't be a holding a newbie's hand throughout the whole gameplay when we can get experienced FPS players.

What about some kind of mini map, that shows the cap points in relation to your current location, along with different floor levels? That'd certainly be more useful than the current simple overview of each map.

I agree a mini map would be much better, and actually be useful to beginner and expert.

He's referring to gearing the entire game experience towards getting people who've never even played an FPS to like Fortress Forever. It's a lost cause. We should be focusing on people who already understand FPS games.

That's his point. He's not saying to hate on newbs or deny them access, just don't gear the entire game to them.
