I was at my daughters Soccer game yesterday and someone pulled one out. It looks pretty cool. Very easy to read and it can store up to 350 books I believe. Also has wi-Fi capability so you can download books whenever you have a connection. Books are also much cheaper than buying physical copies.
The only thing I didn't really like about it is that you press the side bars of the left and right of it to go to next and previous pages and it's real easy to press on accident because the buttons span the whole length of the device. Also I don't think they have a backlight so no night reading with it unless you have a light source. It was a very sunny day here yesterday and there was no reflection to speak of on the screen so it's very easy to see. Not sure about with artificial light. Hope that helps, -Icculus {FYC} *EDIT* I was just reading about it on Amazon's website and they have this to say about the Wireless capability Unlike WiFi, Kindle utilizes the same high-speed data network (EVDO) as advanced cell phones—so you never have to locate a hotspot. Not sure about that though. The person who was showing it off at the soccer game could not get a wireless signal but my cell phone worked just fine */EDIT* Last edited by Icculus; 09-08-2008 at 06:35 PM. |

I find the Cybook gen3 reader great and it's certainly worth a look.
