Clan for begginers!?

More newer people come to me then anyone. And most of them are dedicated to learn and want to play for real.
I want as many oppinions as i can get in the following question:"should i start another real UGC clan?" What better way to get better than to play with some of the best? We might get spanked, with only one member that has been playing for a while, but the important thing is, is that they will get some real nice practice about one day a week after season 2 of UGC 5v5 starts up.

I'd be willing to coach. I'm so anal retentive about learning that I've kept track of all the skills I have and how I learned them, so I figure I could teach reasonably well. If the cause is getting more players into FF, I'm up for the effort.

I'll keep that in mind joker . And yes, the main idea is to get more people playing fortress-forever, and to get the newer players aquanted with the game. Once you learn the game, all it takes is some practice to be good.

Well you've probably seen ffschool.org which is under development. The avi's will be completed shortly into 2.1 and should be very comprehensive.

But besides the avi's it will provide a section for trainers to get trainees appointed to them. It should work out well.

Perhaps I should get it finished and operational sooner, aka start working on it now before 2.1...

Its more than just teaching begginers how to play the game man... and it really isnt a hard game to pickup, and after that, its just practice practice practice!
Fortresstraining isnt just a handmedown of fyc or ff.school.org. Its a place were u can just come in, talk if u feel like it, watch the pros play, or jump in a game of TFC Fortress-Forever, and w/e else. Its not all about the training(work), its just a game, i dont see anyone that would really take it that seriousily, other than the good fellas.
Its nice to see that we are somewhat on the same path, helping newer people into the game, and trying to expand.

Saying the goodfellas takes something (wtf were you talking about?) too seriously is retarded. I am the only one in goodfellas whos training ppl.

My point was my avi's will save people some effort once I release them.

IMO yoda, if you have the time, I think starting a new clan would be a great idea. Not all players play alike or learn alike. This could certainly help some people who have difficulty getting into the scene now.

Don't feel stressed to provide something that you can't maintain though. Do what you can, and whatever's missing, someone will fill in.

Video tutorials are great, but I imagine that only few new FF players would find those avi's themselves and watch them, because people are pretty much lazy like that. With peers directing, though, new players are much more apt to be motivated. At the very least, it'd be good to have people who can talk to new players, and direct them to those videos.

So, instead of Googling "how to FF", it'd be more like:

Doesn't take a "pro", if thats whatg you wanna call it, to teach, or to help someone thats new anyone could do it... and im not going to explain anything else for the very simple reason, of not wanting to start anything with drama, but what i will say as my closeing statement is: YOU GUYS NEED TO CHECK OUT MY SITE!!! Its really not what you would expect... and im sorry if it seems like im advertiseing, im not trying to.

BTW: ive been helping newer people ever since TFC. When i see a WhenFFwillOut, i spend as much time out of my freetime as i can to help them. I honestly can say, that more than half of my friends list, i have taught something, either if it was the very basics of the game, or a tripple hand-held conc. Ask one of my friends, they've probably either let me try to help em, or seen me do it before.

Uhh, having spent retarded amounts of time on TFC and its community myself I am not one to call anyone else a nerd in a demeaning manner, but I will point out that you are indeed nerds. As per definition you spend what most people consider too much time on a computer game, one might even say you take this game a wee bit too seriously. I expect at least someone in your ranks would realise and accept that.
