Good gaming mic?
Hey all,
Can anyone recommend a good gaming mic to use ingame? I have a decent set of gaming headphones but the microphone on them is terrible. I have to turn everything all the way up and practically yell into the mic to be heard. Since I play FF either while working or late at night, yelling isn't really an option. Thanks in advance, -Icculus {FYC} |

Are you talking about a desktop or free-standing mic? It seems to me you'll have better success replacing your headset. I'm using the Microsoft Lifechat 3000 (on the rare occasion I play nowadays) and I've been happy with it.

It would be nice to get a headset with a good mic in it but a free-standing mic would work as well.

even the cheap thomann own brand mics are better than any "gaming" mic. simply because gaming mics are made for pence, and sold with a massive markup.

I bought a headset from staples (staples brand) for 10 bucks when it was on sale, and it has a good mic on it. I've now seen the same headset on sale for 5 bucks. I am considering picking up another one as a spare just in case but this one is doing just fine.

Thanks for all the tips. I ended up getting a Logitech Clearchat Pro and it sounds MUCH better than my old microphone.
