Integrated Graphics for laptops
So my laptop question comes down to this (I may post in tech too if that is ok?)
I'm wondering whether or not I should splurge a little more for a better graphics card. I'll most likely only be playing source games until I have enough money to buy a desktop that will run new stuff. Whats the best low-end integrated card x3100? radeon hd 3200 780M? nvidia go 7150? Those are all viable options on STORE purchased laptops. All which are at least Core 2 Duos\Turion 64 as well as 3 GB of ram The ebay bids I'm watching are around the same price-range, all have warranties, but the HD and RAM are smaller, HOWEVER offering the Nvidia 8400\8600 line. Is there a significant enough difference between all those cards? I'm not looking for max settings, 1024 x 780 with a constant 60-80 fps would be great! |

For the time being I would avoid nvidia if you can help it.
ESPECIALLY the 8400/8600 mobile line. They have widespread KNOWN failure issues. Rumours have it that things might be even worse than what is currently known about the whole nvidia cards failing thing (and it's pretty bad). |
