Cancer Cure?

In the animal studies, white blood cells from cancer-resistant mice cured all lab mice who had malignant tumours. The cells have also been able to kill cervical, prostate and breast cancer tumour cells in Petri dish tests.

"All the mice we treated were 100 per cent cured," lead researcher Dr. Zheng Cui told CTV News. "So that was very surprising for us."

How many times have scientists found "The cure for cancer!"? First it was denim dye, then saline, now it's white blood cells.

I really do hope this one works though

As to the OP. Hopefully something good will come from this. It seems too often we see something potentially magnificent in a test species that doesn't carry over to human biology. It sure would be nice to give cancer a swift kick in the butt...I don't suppose it's too much to hope for a breakthrough in Epilepsy...

I just because noobs don't understand what cancer is what makes them hope there is this one cure for cancer. Which is a stupid idea, really.

I don't know if this is the cure, or not. Having lost my wife to cancer, I honestly hope this one does it.

During the last year of her life, Rose participated in any research study they tossed her way. She figured that even if it didn't help her, it might help someone.

Hold on, Innoc. Perhaps you don't have the relevant background information, but YomMamasHouse brought up an excellect point.

Ultra-Orthodox Jewishs are already refusing blood transfusion except in dire emergency situations. As in, if you don't receive it you die within minutes. Even then they first ask for artificial blood. Now we are talking about transfusing leukocytes! How likely is this going to to be accepted by those people? So you see, even if white blood cell transfusion cures cancer, the cure will not benefit a sizable group of patients. So alternate treatments will be necessary.
